1965 Under Body Center Seat Belt Cable

Looking for input on whether the under body center seat belt support cable attachment use a washer that is called out in the '65 Aim. On page E91, UPC G2 it call out a washer p/n 138494 that is to be used under the nut(s). I have pictures of an unrestored, early build, '65 AO Smith built body that shows no washer under the attachment nut.

One question I have is can someone give me the description/size of the washer called out in the AIM?

    Thanks,

    James

Your picture is of the wrong nut in the diagram. #14 washer s/b under the nut holding the "U" shaped clip in the lower left of your picture. See the ball on the end of the cable where it is attached to the frame.

But the picture I included of the unrestored, low milage car has no washer under the nut.

James, My April 65 A.O. Smith body (1 owner) and my May 65 St Louis body (2 owners) had no washers behind the nuts.

I don't show any washer underneath the nut on my center cable mounts on my '67 either. What's a bit unusual, the washer called out for in the AIM #138494 isn't listed as a toothed washer but when you look it up in the AMK catalog, it is. Zip and Corvette Centrals kits for the underbody cable hardware include the toothed washers, as well.
Shown below is the washer AMK lists as #138494. Also, links to Zip and Corvette Central cable hardware.

              Thanks for all the replies.

So taking this a little further, is washer #10 p/n 3816952 a flat washer or toothed washer?

                James,
I am sure that is a large flat washer. I don't have a cross reference for 3816952 but the '66 & '67 AIM have the same drawing with a different part number 3790768 for that washer...that washer appears below.

                  Leif,

That is the washer that I received from ZIP only in silver/clear zinc finish. Thanks for the information.

The change in the AIMs from 3816592 to 3790768 could simply reflect a change by GM from zinc plated to black phosphate. But there could be other differences.
