70 Wiper problem and 3 days till Texas Regional!!! Need help troubleshooting

I'm taking my Original 1970 to Frisco for the NCRS Regional on Thursday and the wipers choose now to stop working. I'm going over the final operations check and the wiper cover opens when the dash switch is activated, However the wipers will not operate at either speed. When I turn the manual over-ride , the wipers begin to move a couple inches but then they go right back down to the park position.

The Door Safety switch is being depressed properly when the door opens.

There is power to the motor, I have steady 12 volts to the yellow wire when the key is on.

I checked the plunger switch and there IS continuity when the plunger is depressed and there is NOT continuity when the plunger is out.

With the door open and the plunger depressed and the over-ride switch ON there IS power to the red wire to the wiper motor

With the door open and the plunger depressed and the Dash Wiper Switch ON, there is NOT power to the red wire.

So only the over-ride switch sends power to the red wire. However when the over-ride switch is turned on the wiper moves a couple inches then goes back to park and only will move once until the key is turned off then back on.

    Hmmm,

I don't know how to troubleshoot the Vacuum Switch under the door on the passenger side

Any troubleshooting ideas would be welcome, I'd hate to lose all the wiper points for something I could fix.

    Thanks in advance,
    Bryan

    Bryan,
Check the ground down by the starter. If you have an alarm, try turning the wipers on with the door open. If the regular ground is not there it will ground through the alarm system. I had that issue many years ago on my 69 and that is where the problem was.

The ground wire by the starter was fine, But... The Wiper Vacuum Switch does NOT hold vacuum!!!

Now I need a new one by Wed in Austin Texas so I can put it on and get the car to the Texas Regional.

I have an extra one you’re welcome to if we can figure out a way to get it to you. I live in the Clear Lake area of Houston - maybe someone from around here is going to the event?

Thank you Dan, I've got a lead on one here in Austin. I'll post up tomorrow afternoon if I need it.
