    Question on 69 headlight bezels

    Guys,

In my 69 AIM the headlight washer nozzles appear to be mounted on the top and the bottom of the bezel, but my Sep 69 bezels are both located on the bottom portion of the bezel. I'm wondering if my bezels are correct or if I need to start sourcing correct ones? Thanks for your help.

Sept 69. I think I have answered my own question. It's clear looking at the AIM and TIM&JG the correct orientation for factory bezels is two nozzles per side, one on the upper and one on the lower part of the bezel with both pointed at the low beam light. Mine has both nozzles on the bottom of the bezel with one nozzle pointed at the low beam and one pointed at the high beam. In investigating this I removed one of my bezels and looked for part numbers and it's clear my bezels are repops. In addition to the incorrect nozzle placements, my bezels are plastic and the original bezels were die cast metal according to the JG. I'm now currently deciding on whether or not to source some original bezels, but I'm leaning towards just leaving them. Seems like the points hit is not worth replacing them.

Obviously, the point hit for NTFP will be negligible but how many points lost during OPS if they don't work?

I assume your referring to the nozzles? I actually haven't tested them yet but if they work fine but the spray from one of them hits the high beam and the other hits the low, which is not what the factory set up had, does that count against operations?

I'm not up to what does and doesn't count on C3 headlight washer nozzles. If they're judged like windshield washers during OPS, then "YES" there will be a point deduction if they don't spray as designed/how they left the factory.

Can any C3 judges weigh in on this one? If I'm going to take a big operations hit then I will have to get the factory bezels.
