    Glass etching

I came across this company in a search for glass etching on wing-vents for another vehicle I own. Its for a 62 VW and unlike Vettes, there are very few sources for authentic (NOS) parts.

    Here it is.

    Thomas,

    Very good to know.

If you use Armour Etch as they suggest, be very careful with the material.
It contains fluoride compounds which are VERY nasty on the skin and eyes.
The problem with these kinds of fluoride compounds is they don't burn right away - so, you may have it on your skin and not take actions to get it off (unlike some of the other strong mineral acids which tend to burn right away)

I've attached a link to the Safety Data Sheet if you care to review it...
    thx,
    Mark

Thank you for that. Sometimes the packaging has warnings that people tend to forget. The funny think about the VW side vents is that the class is not actually etched but rather has raised type. I won't be able to replicate so etching is the next best thing or maybe nothing at all because either one would not be correct. Both of my Vettes have what I would consider to be etch marks. My 63 has all it's original glass 67 does not (it is etched however)
