Patrick, One thing I preach at the Judging Retreat is the fact that you can only draw something 1 way. Just because it's drawn that way doesn't mean the assembly line worker installed it that way. If he/she found it easier to rotate or reverse it then that's the way it was installed.
I also find that they pulled drawings from earlier years or different sections of the manual and used them as long as they were "close enough."
As such, you can't assume the screw or bracket in the background is pictured correctly for the year and application.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Gary,
I was careful to cut new hoses to the length of what I think were the originals. My suction fuel hose is 6 inches long. The end of the steel line going to the fuel tank points slightly upward. If this steel line were extended, it would probably contact the bottom of the spark plug shielding, about 2" from the front of the shield.
