A discussion of GM of Canada documentation broke out in Sando Covello's thread titled "63 window sticker". In order to avoid further highjacking of his thread and to make the material more accessible, I am starting a new thread for us to continue the discussion.
Commenters to the previous thread provided a link to Vintage Vehicle Services that seems to possess the GM of Canada data that once was available directly from GM of Canada.
I got information about my 67 Corvette in 1989, directly from GM of Canada. Back then, you could correspond with a GM employee named Larry Davidson, and the letter was on "General Motors of Canada Limited" letter head. The source material was something called the Monthly Imported Shipping report. To GM of Canada, Corvettes were imported cars. I guess GM in US did not save their corresponding monthly exported shipping report or anything else. It seems possible that when Larry Davidson retired there was no one in GM to do this great service, and Vintage Vehicle Services took it over. Its a good thing that they did.
Keep in mind that GM of Canada only had information on Corvettes that were sold new in Canada because the import records were the data source. In 1967 model year, there were only 336 Corvettes sold new in Canada. I know that because Noland Adams published the number of 67 Corvettes with option V48 as 336. All the 67 Corvettes imported to Canada had option V48 which was just a richer mixture of antifreeze.
Attached are pictures of what GM of Canada sent me, amazingly for free. There was a very brief cover letter from Larry Davidson followed by the substantive second page shown here. He also sent me the Monthly Imported Shipping report for March 1967 that showed options, production date and other stuff for my car and 26 others shown here. The type is pretty small and I don't expect it to be legible. But if you own 67 Corvettes numbered: 11947, 11966, 11998, 11999, 12231, 12250, 12652, 12770, 12810, 12875, 12839, 12967, 13114, 13228, 13332, 13494, 13495, 13501, 13510, 13814, 13817, 13938, 14508, 14518, 14564 or 14718 I have your information.
Please post information about what you got from Vintage Vehicle Sevices or the old stuff like I got here. Maybe we can combine to get a list of all the 336 Canadian Corvettes.
