I am installing a dash wiring harness from Lectric Limited in my 1965 coupe. I am noticing the connectors look a bit different from my original harness. Would anyone recommend installing some of my original connectors on the new harness ? I don't want to introduce problems into this project but it seems like my original connectors are still in nice condition and may be better made than the reproduction connectors. I probably won't do the fuse box I am thinking of the simpler connectors.

Re: C2 Wiring Harness Question
Hi Mark--
My vote would be to leave your brand new Lectric Limited dash wiring harness alone. I have used their fantastic products on two (2) '64 Corvette convertibles with great success! Dash and engine harness on one of the Vettes; and engine harness within the past four months on the other '64 Vette. Of course, both cars were merely "relatively correct" drivers, and I was more concerned with dependability / reliability rather than factory original appearance. However, your car; your decision.
Best Wishes,
Rob

Re: C2 Wiring Harness Question
Thanks Rob. It would be a lot easier to leave them alone. We will see what others say. So far I am impressed by the the accuracy of the wire color and lengths but I know there a lot of posts on other forums about wanting the wires to be longer to make the installation easier. Since I am installing everything to my dash cluster on a bench then I hope not to have a wire length issue. My car is definitely in the nice driver category while still being a top flight candidate. Dependability and reliability are key concerns.- Top

Re: C2 Wiring Harness Question
Install your new harness as produced by Lectric Limited. Otherwise, you could introduce unintended negative consequences. I have front to rear Lectric Liimited harnesses in my '67 for the past 10 years...absolutely no issues whatsoever. The fact that you're installing the harness to the cluster on the bench (which is how the factory did it) should afford you the luxury of a much easier installation.Leif
