Question for any of you who have restored the seat back frames for your 67. The seat back AIM drawing, page G125, shows a spring which is called an anti rattle spring by some of the parts vendors. It is part number 3911149, part #13, and was added to the assembly drawing in late August 66. However when I disassembled my seats, on a June 67 build, there is no spring. I bought a spring but it seems to be useless. I wonder if this is something the Assembly plant folks got rid of in a "casual" way. Can anyone offer any thoughts? Thanks

Re: 67 Seat Back Anti Rattle Spring
Thank you John. I've now seen two different methods used to secure the spring. JB Weld and also making a bend in the straight end to "hook" it in the seat frame. I still wonder if the UAW guys gave up on installing this as it seems to be a fruitless endeavor. If anyone has any info to share regarding the presence of the spring in original unmolested seats that would be great.- Top
