1.25 inch vs 1.5 inch tire valve which is correct for '69

    Guys,

I'm setting up a set of wheels/tires for future judging purposes for my Sept '69 built L-46. My car originally came with white stripe tires with the PO2 wheel covers. I've found two different types of valves from the various vendors: 1.25 in or "short" valves vs. 1.5 in or "long" valves. Which would be correct for my car?

From the wheel to the tip of the threaded stem, they measure roughly 1-5/16" tall.
P02 hubcaps used valve stem extensions, with a white tip. They measured roughly 7/8"long.

These valve stem extensions will certainly be functional but the conventional wisdom is that the "correct" extensions have "SCHRADER" embossed on the black plastic and a hoie in the center of the white plastic. Of course, GM probably used several vendors for these so other types might be also acceptable. I have several sets in the shop and I will try to post a picture later today. Pages 98 and 99 of the current judging guide have several pictures of the variations

Yes I have the valve extensions that you posted above my question was about the valves themselves it seems like two versions are available it sounds like the correct ones are the ones that are listed as 1.25 inches.
