Part # 301117 (CC) was 11535K from Paragon - Oil Drain Plug with Seal

    bad drain plug - 1.jpg

Above "Oil Drain Plug with Seal" (no plug headwork.) Part # 301117 (CC) was purchased as 11535K from Paragon on 4/25/2016. Shown above after about 100 miles. After this, I went back to the small hex head version that came with the GM BB service pan.

Today, using the Paragon number (at CC'S website) leads you to the Corvette Central part 301117.

    AND: Part #
302299 (CC) is another plug, but with a headwork and the seal. I suspect the seal, also sold separately as Part # 301188, is the same for this other version. I DO NOT KNOW IF THESE NYLON SEALS ARE STILL MADE USING THE SAME FORMULA. HAS THERE BEEN A CHANGE?

As you guys know, the washer is the only thing that seals the drain... the threads do not. My experience is the nylon/plastic and copper crush washers often leak.

I've had better luck with the metal washers that have a bonded rubber seal along the inner circumference. Also available at FLAPS.

Go to your Chevy store and get this Gasket. 14090908 Typical GM stuff, it works great. Scott

I use these too and have never had one leak. In fact, I’ve had such good luck with the steel/rubber seal, I used them on my Chevrolet 409/425 and my Pontiac 400RA. I ordered a bunch of them from Paragon () and keep an inventory in my tool chest.
