    1977 carburetor by Carter code

Can anyone tell me if this carburetor code is correct for my 1977 small block 350? It was manufactured for GMC.
I am expecting date code beginning with a letter. I am the second owner of the car for about 20 years. I don't think that the carburetor was ever changed but maybe I am wrong.
The carburetor part number is 17057204, and the date code is 0737 AYN.
I want to find out before I send it out to be restored. Does anyone want to recomment a restorer to me?
I hope when I get this thing done I can help others as I have be helped.

Definitely correct for your car assuming that your car was built after the 73rd day of 1977.

Carter was definitely manufacturing carburetors for GM including Corvettes during the period. Many original Corvettes of the period are known to have these Carter-manufactured Q-Jets. The fact that this carburetor has a GM part number indicates it was among those manufactured for GM.

Has to be 1977. This carburetor was not being manufactured in 1967 and I do not think that Carter was still manufacturing them by 1987.

Jim...that's a correct carb for your 77. The AYN broadcast code was called out for 1977 L48s with A/C and federal emissions. If you compare the date code to your trim tag date code, I would expect it align nicely.

I had my 78 carb rebuilt by All American Carb in Florida. For many years they were a vendor at the Florida Regionals.

There were Qjets in '67 but they didn't look like this one.

              Hi Mark,

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet, but what does "2 49 state" mean ?
              thx,
              Mark

The number 2 in the part number designates a 49 state carburetor. 5 means California.

Yes, Q-jets existed in 1967 but there were none manufactured by Carter and none of part number 17057204.
