69 coupe door glass

My 69 is a Dec 68 build and the glass (VX code) that came out of it is the 1st design. Unfortunately, both are badly scratched. I have a clean VX dated right side glass that i was planning to use but upon further inspection it is a 2nd design (5 holes and flat on bottom). I guess its an 1981 piece. Is there any reason I could not use this? Obviously, I would need a different window channel bracket than whats on the original glass. Does anyone have an experience installing these (or using the 2nd design glass)? Has power windows if that matters... Haven't done one of these before and the car was all apart when i bought it.

Corvette Assembly Manual, UPC1, K2, shows the window and channel. 68 Window and channel are different in 68 than in 69. Maybe the very early 69's used the old 68 style, as 69 AIM, UPC 1, Sht. K2 shows redrawn and revised 10-1-68.

39115871 Channel is listed in the 1968 AIM. 3953070 is listed in the 1969 AIM. The 1970 Parts book lists 3915866 for 68-70.

The regulators are not called out in the AIM, I suspect they were installed inside the doors, at the vendor (or-elsewhere). My April 1, 1070 Parts catalog, shows the same regulator from 1968-70. Power Window regulators 9714134 RH, 9714135 LH.

The later style glass, used with the later style channel, should work. I would try it and see.
