    Corvette Restorer Magazine

I found where someone posted a link to some of the more recent Restorer magazine but that link only has issues from 2022-2017. Are all the other issues stored somewhere electronically where members can get access to them? I imagine that there is a lot of knowledge in the previous issues that would be great for members to be able to access.

Here is the link that I found that gives access to some of the more recent issues.

When I first joined I saw that you could purchase previous issues of the Restorer magazine through the store but $60 for a DVD that most people couldn't play anymore since DVDs are really a ting of the past. Even $60 seems really high for a price, I reached out to see if any of the Out of Stock would be available and I was told "no time soon".

I also read on a post that the NCRS removed the previous issues of the magazine as a cost saving measure. It costs nothing to convert the magazine into a PDF and upload the PDF to a web server and make the link to the PDF available to members.

Simeone even went through the trouble of indexing all of the articles and documenting them in a pdf file so you can see what was in each issue. That is great and all, only if you have every issue in hard copy. https://www.ncrs.org/contact/Restorer_Index.pdf
I am hoping I am wrong and someone can point me to where all of the issues are hosted as pdf files.

This seems like such a no brainer and such an easy thing to do to provide to the members.

Jason...short answer to your question is no, there is/are no other version(s) of online magazines available...we didn't start putting the magazines online until about 10 years ago and prior to that there were no online versions or saved versions of PDF...and prior to 1999, the magazines were not done electronically. They were cut and paste onto work boards and photographed and sent to the printer. So you are out of luck for any pdf or online versions.

That's a shame to have all of those documented tech articles and knowledge lost. Even if someone could scan prior print issues and convert them to pdf would be great for the community and would be great to have for history.

        Vinnie,
Would it be acceptable to NCRS if members scanned old Restorers and sent them in for inclusion in the publications database?

Wanted to bump this back up as it sounds like there are members that would be willing to scan old Restorers which would allow them to be uploaded for members to read and learn from.

If your looking for a particular area of interest about how to fix and or repair and learn about a year of a corvette, maybe someone could chime in and possibly copy and or send that edition to you if they did not need it for reference in the future. Just sayin.

Well I am fixing and repairing everything. When I got my 58 it was all in pieces and missing parts, frame and body separated. So its a true frame off resto. I have found lots of helpful articles from other local NCRS clubs on their websites. I am just saying it would be nice to have all the back orders of the Restorer magazine available to view and download online.

I have all from Volume 1 #4 to date! Make me an offer I can't refuse and plan on picking them up in Arkansas.

Joe, I know you're a very resourceful person when it comes to pieces and parts and knowledge. This sounds like a great entrepreneurial opportunity for you...scan them to PDF and sell the lot at a "reasonable" price.

@vinnie I gotta backup Jason. I've been wanting the old restorers online for ages. I bought the old version of the Restorers for DOS 15 years ago and haven't wanted to shell out another $60 for a DVD. I think this could be an additional revenue opportunity for NCRS. Scan all the old restorers online and then sell it as a subscription model for $1.99 or $2.99 a month. I bet NCRS would sell a lot more of those than DVDs that are stale the moment they come out.
