Hi. New member here. I pulled a stupid move in my own driveway and rolled my 1981 Corvette's open passenger door backwards into the rear of my parked 2002 Trans Am and messed it up pretty badly. The door is now contacting the fender. I replaced the hinge pins and tried to adjust the door, but it won't close. I don't know the extent of the damage, but the area the hinges bolt to appears undamaged. There is paint damage and the door skin might need replacing, too, but I've filed a claim with my insurance company to take care of it. My problem is that I can't find a body shop willing to take it in due to its age and simply being a Corvette. I know of two local restoration shops that would do this kind of work, but they are covered up and not accepting new work until September or later. I was hoping somebody local might see this and refer me somewhere. It makes me sick to the stomach having to walk past it every day knowing it was my stupidity that caused the damage. I really need to get it out of here. Thanks

Re: C3 Door Repair near Birmingham AL
My suggestion would be to find a body shop that mixes their own paint so that the paint match would be proper. Mine repaired and mixed paint for me on a 1996 with less than stellar paint and it matched perfectly. An old school technician with the proper skill and experience can do this with ease. It has been worth the hunt for me. PaulIt's a good life!
