58 rear leaf spring liners

I just got my leaf spring rebuild kit from corvette central and now see that the kit I purchased doesn't have the spring liners.

When I disassembled my springs they didn't have any liners. Are they needed?

I can't find anyone online that sells just the liners for C1 corvettes.

Anyone know where we can get them if they are needed?

Liners are usually included in a rear spring rebuild kit, like Corvette Central 581001. This kit shows the liners included.

Quanta did sell liners only.

I just called Quanta and they sell liners for 1963 and up. And I am guessing from what I have read that the C1 liners are different and more difficult, if not impossible, to find.

Can anyone tell me if the liners in the image below are the correct ones for a 1958 Corvette?

I just called Quanta and they sell liners for 1963 and up. And I am guessing from what I have read that the C1 liners are different and more difficult, if not impossible, to find.

No not even close. Original liners are wax coated and have strips for the grooves. I showed them in the LINK in your previous post about band clamps.

The pictured liners were sold by vendors many years ago for solid axle vettes. Are these applicable to any GM vehicle? Were they just a substitute in the absence of correct liners?

Joe I put those on a 59 Corvette years ago and they were not only ugly, they fell apart not long afterwards. The owner didn't want the best ones. He regretted it just like I told him he would.

Yes they may have been used for other cars too as a universal fits all liner.

Good then... Btw, when you have them apart you may want to paint the top surface of the upper springs silver.
