In the SoCal Chapter Bonding Strip, Vol 41, No 1, (Feb 2021), look for "Stay Grounded" by Gary Hiltunen. His fix was to improve the grounding of the starter and the use of heavy duty brush leads.

Re: C-1 hard start 235 after engine warms up
My personal experience for a similar issue was the clutch switch. When it got warm, the resistance across the internal contacts increased, as well as the resistance of the starter solenoid. (Increasing solenoid resistance means less current flow, thus less magnetic force to pull in the plunger, exacerbated by the high resistance clutch switch). The solenoid would just click while the ammeter bounced around -40 Amps. Replacement of that switch and clean-up on the clutch switch connector contacts resolved my issue.Bill Bertelli
