      Charles, Yes all convertibles had them for additional support of the top frame.

      Your car was likely a hard top only when built and soft top added. A telltale clue would be missing bonded or riveted in T-nuts in the body to capture the outer frame brackets, upper 1/4"-20 bolts. I suspect yours are missing.
