1963 firewall wiring harness straps

Just wondering what is the correct orientation for the straps along the firewall wiring harness. I think the AIM shows the white strap as correct, but not sure. It also only shows 3 straps. Also, do judges prefer the yellow straps? Thanks for the help.20230712_105604.jpg

Hi Peter. That's what I thought also, but I have read some threads that judges prefer to see the yellow. If we are presenting the car as factory "new", then the white would be the best choice. Just a little confused as to what I should do and which orientation is right. Hope to see you in French Lick.

Check 1 B23 (item 7) and 12 A9 (item 21) in 63 AIM for straps.. I think there are 5..

Hi Sven, the original white straps age to yellow over time , they call for up to 5 straps along the fire wall and don't forget the clip for the washer hose attaching to left side of the hood latch , which one of the photos is missing the clip

that clip to left hood latch did not appear until 1966 MY.

Don, 63 did have a clip on drivers the very early cars were bonded and then a Philips head screw was added, also the was a clip bonded to the lip on pass. Side fender.

I understood the post above mine to mean this clip.. Incorrectly referenced by vendor for 63-67 cars.. It clips the primary washer hose to the left hood latch mount plate on 66-67 cars.

Ya the clip on the latch is later, I thought you were talking about clip for harness on firewall.
