Since the alternator rectifier can be partially seen through the cooling slots on the rear case half, here's a little information on the original configuration.
The original 1969-71 Corvette alternator rectifier was GM #1971987. An NOS example [not for sale] can be seen below. This example was manufactured June 8, 1971.

This rectifier can be seen through the rear case of an NOS GM #1100543 alternator [not for sale] and through a 1969 rear case as seen below:

The GM #1971987 was used only for 1969-71 alternators and was available in SERVICE until November, 1978 when it was replaced by GM #1867531. The latter is easy to discern as it has a plastic "insulator" fused to the side which can be seen through the slots in the case. Below an NOS GM #1867531. This example was manufactured 12/29/79:

The GM #1867531 was discontinued without supercession in July, 1998.
