1968 Hardtop Guide Pins and Hardware

Another thrill of owning, restoring a 68 convertible. I believe looking at the AIM there are two different guide pins used for the hardtop and T tops. Is this picture of an early setup or the later setup for a hardtop ? I heard early pins were recessed for a different screw. Also a metal spacer and shim with no rubber gasket. As always thanks in advance. IMG_7863.jpg

I'm thinking 69. I'll look at my other 68-69 AIM's tomorrow for change records and part numbers. What I have here in the house, shows 68 and 69 use different numbers for guide and screws. It might be a late 68 thing...

Re: 1968 Hardtop Guide Pins and Hardware

1968 AIM, UPC C07, Sht. A5 for lists the pin, Item #5, as 3913977-8. Item #6 screw is 9428818, On 4-4-68, change letter 14, the screw changed to 9415982.

1969 AIM, UPC C07, Sht. A5, lists the pin as 3958703-4. It lists the screw as 3958727. On 8-2-68, that sheet was Redrawn and Redesigned.

Usually the 941XXXX and 942XXXX numbers are out of the Standard Parts & Stock catalog. So I'll stick my neck out and say it's probably the oval head cross-recess screws. The 3958727, likely had a engineering drawing made of it. It's probably the screw you picture.

Is there a date written in crayon under the headliner? Or, what's the date on the rear window?
