    C6 ZO6 Tire Standard Deductions

I have not ordered my new C6 TIMJG, but was wondering if the standard deductions for tires will follow the earlier judging std. deductions? I changed my original Goodyear run flats for Michelins because I drive the car and they are a much quieter tire. I have been searching for a set of Goodyear F1 Supercar tires just to get an original manufacturer's set on the car for flight judging. The Goodyear tires seem to be discontinued everywhere I look. What will be the point deduction, 100%?

Standard Deduction Guideline #3 - Tires will apply. In this case, Section B "1975 and newer model year ..."

Part of that STD Guideline covers Non-OEM Brand:

"Deduct 75% -- Non-OEM brand, with correct size and lettering."

This level deduction would allow tires to be judged for Condition.

p.s. I would expect that "and lettering" caveat refers to presence or absence of tire's "run-flat" designation.

Pete Bergmann, 2005-2007 Team Leader, would clarify - his email is listed under CONTACTS.

James, I'm leading towards the 75%. I also have Michelins on my 2006, non-run flats. I changed the battery and two coils. Just looking at Originality I anticipate loosing 30 points. Probably some condition points on paint as I drive the car.

I'll find out in Ontario after Flight Judging.

        Harry,

My car is a 2008 ZO6. Pete Bergman took pictures and information from it at the 2021 Heartland Regional for TIMJG reference. I too am on my second battery and soon to be a third set of tires, more than likely the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season Run Flat tires. The car only has 17,800 miles on it at this time, but the current Michelins are now 10 years old. The original set of Goodyear EMT rin flats had bald spots on the outer portion of the rear tires at 7900 miles in 2013 do to bad factory alignment. I changed them before driving to Hampton, VA. for the Nat'l Convention.

I'm okay with the 75% standard deduction for the tires and whatever the replacement AC Delco battery is.

To be consistent with other judging classes, anywhere a standard deduction is applied, the established standard deduction guidelines apply to the C6 class.
