Does anyone have any sources or leads for an AC 6440433 fuel pump for my L79 67? I know they are unicorns.

In GM SERVICE the part number for fuel pump 6440433 was GM #6416509 (number found only on the box, not on the pump itself) and the AC SERVICE part number was 40433. These were discontinued in February, 1967 and replaced by GM #6416712 and AC #40503. Given the fact that the discontinuation occurred 56 years ago, I expect that finding an NOS 40433 pump will be virtually impossible.

Given the date of SERVICE discontinuation of the 40433, I'd be surprised if that pump was used in PRODUCTION throughout the 1967 model year. My expectation is that later 1967's were equipped with the AC type 40503.

Joe, Thanks for the info. My L79 AC conv was built on 12/27/66 so it would need the 40433 pump. I just bought an NOS 0503 pump to use if I can't find the "unicorn".

My '67 L79 build on 4-18-67 has the original 40433 fuel pump on it. This would be a hard part to find.
