I could swear that I have seen such a picture of a 70(I think) LT-1 manifold with showing where the stud and lifting bracket go. However, I cannot find it through the search function. If anyone remembers this photo, please post it or a link.

Re: Looking for Picture of LT-1 intake manifold with bolts, stud and lifting bracket
Patrick,
I believe these to be correct. First picture shows the front driver's side bracket. Second picture shows the passenger side rear bracket attached to the bell housing. Though not pictures of LT1, the location should be the same. Front driver's side bracket would be natural steel or zinc plated on an LT1.

Hay Patrick: Below is a picture of my original 70 LT-1 BUT in "F" Car. Not sure if there is
a difference of placement for them from a F Car to a Corvette. LarryAttached FilesLarry

Re: Looking for Picture of LT-1 intake manifold with bolts, stud and lifting bracket
Thanks Leif and Larry. The lifting bracket seems to be in the same place on the L-46 and the Z28. Is there a stud for one of the manifold bolts on the passenger side?- Top

Nice looking engines Leif and Larry. Do either of them have the TCS solenoid or the stud that Terry mentions?- Top

TCS Solenoid is behind the choke coil. Towards the rear of the car. See attached pictures.

I don't know if you've already figured the LT1 lift boll question, but thought i'd send a few photos just in case.
FYI the lift bolts are 1/8 " longer than the regular manifold bolts, also the head is crowned (there hard to find)

Re: Looking for Picture of LT-1 intake manifold with bolts, stud and lifting bracket
Thanks Fred for the pictures of your excellent LT-1. Your pictures and Larry's also answered another question I had -- Were the distributor shield supports painted orange or left bare? Among my boxes of stuff, I had two sets, one painted and one bare. I couldn't remember which set came off my LT-1 so many years ago. It must be the painted set.
As an aside, the crowned lift bolts you show look a lot like the regular intake manifold bolts on a big block, but I don't think WB is a common head marking for the big block bolts.- Top

Re: Looking for Picture of LT-1 intake manifold with bolts, stud and lifting bracket
Patrick,
I was generously counseled by Gary B on the correct 72 lift bolt head marking. Long story short..my son & I rummaged through 100s probably 1000s of David Sokolowski's sbc manifold bolts (buckets & cans), and found about 20 that Bozz said would judge OK.
What year is your LT1?Fred Hickey

Re: Looking for Picture of LT-1 intake manifold with bolts, stud and lifting bracket
Fred-- My LT-1 is a 70 that has a different lifting bracket than a 72. I took the engine apart 40 years ago, and now it am trying to find all the pieces and put it back together. I have one odd manifold bolt that I believe holds the lifting ring which on a 70 is held with only one bolt. It is longer than the others and has a built-in thick washer with sharp corners. It does not look like the big block manifold bolts.- Top
