    Laguna Blue Paint Formula

I'm restoring a 66 and am having a hard time finding an accurate paint formula for Paint Code 978 (Laguna Blue). Was wondering if anyone had recently painted that color (basecoat/clearcoat) and could let me know the brand and paint formula. (New member, 1st post, I own a 66 427 Coupe and am restoring a 66 327 Hardtop) Thanks!

I doubt this will assist with any modern paints, but I think I found a 1966 Acme color mix formula for Laguna Blue.

Jack, thanks. I'll see if that's useful to my supplier...

            Stephan,
if your intent is to have the car judged, have your painter spray out a card and have someone knowledgeable who judges C2 paint take a look at it before you paint the car.
I am suspicious of the coarse metallic in this formula. Too much or too large metallic is a common issue.
            Regards,

Thanks Brian, I'll definitely spray a sample card...

Be prepared to do several spray out. On each card I would write the humidity at the time of spraying, temperature, and air pressure. All of these have contributing factors. The tint and metallic can cause havoc, just saying, but rewarding when it is correct.
