I browsed the archives and could not find an answer to this. Patrick Cavanaugh had a post on a 1964 lighter and was advised his is correct. Mine matches his and has what I'd describe as a "large" font for the "63 CASCO 12V." I bought an NOS unit with an NOS knob which is an exact match except the font is smaller (in picture with silver knob). This difference is most noticable in the letter spacing in the pics. Is a difference in font size correct or acceptable?
As an aside, I also bought a NOS lighter advertised as being for a 59 Chevy with a black plastic knob which is the same shape as my 64 metal knob (also in picture). It has the larger font and works well. The difference I see is that the ridges and grooves in the outer shell are more distinctly formed, a little sharper with the bottom flare a little smaller, whereas they are more rounded and less crisp on my original and the other one I bought. Has anyone seen this and would they comment on acceptability (Not the black knob...it can be changed)?
