    front grill details

Would anyone have a engineering drawing of the front grill which would provide information that could be used in repair of the upper and lower tabs? Mine are physically gone and I have no way to accurately determine their original size, etc..........

I have searched the archives and there are numerous discussions regarding the front grill however, I have been unable to identify any information that would help me in this case......

Perhaps my only alternative is a replacement grill but I thought I'd ask first.......

    What year?

In any case a good option is to get your hands on a good grille to copy the location and orientation of the tabs.

      Robert,

Assuming you're talking about a '67 front grille, I believe they are made out of what I used to call "Pot Metal".

Although Pot metal can be repaired, trying to "weld" on tabs designed to support the grille with all the consequent vibrations up front as you drive is probably not a long term solution.

Originals (maybe needing rechroming) are available...I picked one up years ago at Carlisle...
and repros are also available...however, I know nothing about them
      thx,
      Mark

        Mark & Mark,

Thank you for the replies and yes,, it is for a "67 as I tried to indicate by showing "67 in my message......

I agree that this "pot metal" is a challenge to weld however, I believe that I know someone who would at least give it a try..... In it's present condition, it can't be used.......

That is why I was asking for some dimensional documentation (or scaled pictures) which included some known base dimensional information so I could "develop a design type document" myself to share with the welder.......
