69 wiper door override switch

Interesting problem - As I understand, the wiper door override switch is supposed to open the wiper doors when the plastic knob is pulled down. Mine currently opens the door when the switch is in the up position, and closes when pulled down (toward the floor). I used the Dr Rebuild vocuum hose kit and followed the chart that was provided. Any suggestions on what I could check to correct the function of the switch?

persistance sometimes works...

I found the problem. I had switched two hoses at the actuator ( near the master cylinder). Red and green stripes look a good bit alike to a color blind person.....
