Removing 58 Corvette Sill Panel Wire Cover Floor Plates

I am having trouble removing some old rusted sill panel wire covers that are under where the doors close. They are badly rusted and the screws that hold them in are also badly rusted. I would normally think about putting some heat to the where the screws screw in but since the car is fiberglass I obviously cant do that.

Anyone have any tricks or suggestions to get these off? I squirted some PB Blaster on them and that didn't seem to have any effect.

    Thanks,
    Jason

I've done many that were badly rusted. I used the tips of wide Vice-Grips to get the screws out. Trick is to squeeze the screw heads flat for best grip.

If any screws break, just punch in and re-glass the holes.
