Floor jack 648 help IDing?

I have a scissor style floor jack with no date code as I am used to seeing on 60s and 70s Vettes-
this one only has the numbers 648 imprinted on a pivot bolt end. Anybody able to identify this jack-?
date and usage ? Would be appreciated. No idea where this jack came from. Thanks

Bob, if it is indeed a scissors jack from a Corvette and the stamp resembles the stamp in the picture below, then the stamp of "648" corresponds to the 48th week of production for 1976. This jack would then be correct for a MY 1977 car.

Jack suppliers switched from Ausco (MY 1975 and earlier) to Stant (MY 1976 and later). Stant stamped date codes on the pivot bolt in the format you see in the picture, which is different from the format and location that Ausco stamped their jacks.

All of the above is wild speculation since we don't have a picture of your jack.

THANK YOU, that is exactly the answer I was looking for- Same as your photo. I am on vacation so I dont have access to the camera I use to post photos. I will try with my cell phone. If anybody wants this 77 Jack it is a spare, available.
