    65 Corvette coupe windshield gasket

My installed Corvette Rubber windshield gasket is too big and prevents a good fit of the molding to the body. Is there another supplier of this rubber? Is there a smaller, less thick version of this gasket?

    Dave,

If you search the archives you will see that your observation is typical of the repro windshield gasket. My guess is Gm NOS are better, and there are NOS examples out there if you search hard and long enough.

Yet to do this one, hope the gaskert shrinks over time.

Why are we as the key Corvette Rubber customers not calling them, getting them the data to fix their parts???

I've called them and spoke with them at parts shows. Many like them. They are the only game in town and have a monopoly! I fought with their vent window weatherstrip

Re: 65 Corvette coupe windshield gasket

                Greetings,
Several years ago I tackled the job of replacing the gasket on my 1966 coupe. At that time, when I finished, I didn't have a concern as to how the gasket fit the windshield. My original windshield was (is) in decent shape and I just wanted a new gasket with, hopefully, improved sealing. As I said I was not displeased with the gasket/windshield fit and Gary just posted to say that the issue is with how the stainless trim fits after the new gasket is installed. I'm unsure of just what Gary is referring to and so I'll jump in and request clarification on this issue, The reason behind my question is that my stainless trim on the passenger side does not close up against the A pillar for most of the length from bottom to top-- although the drivers side is fine. Is this the issue or, as I've long suspected, my stainless is not lined up with the attaching clips properly. Hence, could someone (Gary or anyone else) indicate how it is that the trim doesn't fit up to the pillar like it should. My trim stands proud of the A pillar by something like 3/16 inch..........looks like h__l!
