    best way to use kable-ease

I've have removed and cleaned both the housing and cable of all old lubricant. The directions say to pull out cable part way and squeeze kable-ease into the housing and work core in and out. Or should I lube the cable and reinstall ?

    Thanks Bob

Whatever you do, don't apply any lube on the last 6 - 8 inches of the cable at the instrument end. And.... only apply a thin coat on the rest of the cable. If it is too "wet" or you develop a good drop near the instrument, the rotation of the cable has a tendency to move or should I say pump the fluid forward - you don't want the lube inside your tach or speedometer - it will splatter all over the place.

Is there a way to lubricate the cable from the transmission end, without disconnecting the speedo end?

The way I was told to use Kable Ease is to put a dollop no bigger than a quarter in the palm of one hand and run the cable through the grease starting at the end that goes in the transmission working up toward the speedo end stopping before getting to the top of it so you don't get the grease wicking up the cable and inside the speedo. As Ed said, a little goes a long way. And Mark, no way I know of to lubricate the cable without it being disconnected at both ends and out of the sheath.
