    Correct original lug nuts 1969

Does anyone have any knowledge on original lug nuts for a 1969? By that I mean any distinguishing characteristics, markings, how to identify. I have read recently about a "waffle" pattern on the outboard flat surface. Please no comments on judging, awards, points or lack thereof...no interest in any of that for this discussion.
    Thanks
    Keith

      Hi Keith,
My last week of production (38305) had mostly waffle pattern nuts with some common parts store replacement nuts when I first acquired it in 1996.

Interesting...we have a known original late 69 car without waffles and another late 69 that has changed hands a few times WITH waffles. Curiouser and curiouser.

No surprise, at all. GM was using these lug nuts by the mega-millions across all car and truck lines. The same part number was ubiquitous. I'm sure there were MULTIPLE suppliers. Each supplier probably had some way of identifying itself (like waffle pattern, etc.).
