I'm restoring a 63 coupe for a friend. Not sure what to do with the choke tube in the pass side exhaust manifold. Got the old one out without damaging the manifold but the stainless steel replacement is only bigger on one end than the other. the smaller end does not seal and will cause an exhaust leak. It seems to me it should be stepped up or bigger on both ends so it can be pressed in and seal on both ends. We got this one from ZIP is there a better one out there? Thanks

Re: 63 300HP choke tube
Hi Dan, When I replaced the hot air tube on my 1963 manifold I installed the tube from the bottom and used J&B weld from the inside around the top so there would be no leak. You could also install the tube and try to expand the top end before the J&B but be very careful you don't crack the exhaust manifold $$$$,- Top

I like JB Weld, too, but I'm surprised it will withstand exhaust manifold heat.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
