I'm installing a new dash harness because the old one was a mess and nothing worked. I want to get this right and not pinch any wires leading to future fires. Between the speedo and tach (the harness goes above those) there is a wiring bundle that proceeds downward and extends to the ignition switch and harmonica connector on the steering column. Anyone have pics of that? I think that the wires to the harmonica connector have to go over the top of the steering column--how about the ones to the ignition switch--Under the column or across the top? Any assistance is appreciated--AIM is pretty silent on that, despite sketches near that area in section 12.

All wires and the ignition switch are above the column, presumably to deter tampering. No photos but there is a recent thread about harness routing behind the cluster that may be helpful.Mark Edmondson

Re: Correct wiring routing behind speedo/tach 70-72?
Mike, I have attached photos I took when disassembling my July 1970 Coupe. It appears that the small harness that descends from the main harness atop the instruments and steering column descends down to the right side if the steering column and the harmonica connector wraps underneath it to the left. I'm out of town right now to check my vehicle to confirm this.
Here are the pics:

Mike, one more pic. These were all taken in order of disassembly.
