Hi all , went to check my anti-freeze on the 75 and noticed the color was orange from the last PO which to be honest I have never seen . Can someone tell me if it is safe for my ORIGINAL radiator or should I flush it out and refill with the green prestone. Thank you

Re: Orange anti-freeze 🤷*♂️
I had that in my '81 with 5000 miles when I got it. It is DexCool and is a GM replacement antifreeze for newer (I think after 1995) GM vehicles, but not the original type for your year Corvette. I left it in and it seemed to work fine. But I should add, I use Zerex G-05 in my C2s, as I understand that is the best one for them.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Anthony,
If you decide to drain/flush what is currently in your system, best to replace with a 50/50 mixture of Zerex G-05 and distilled water. Change out every 3-4 years.Leif

Re: Orange anti-freeze 🤷*♂️
Zerex G-05 is a honey-yellow color. Zerex Original Geeen is also available, which is similar to what was originally installed in this car.
The color of G-05 can be mistaken for DexCool, especially when a bit dirty.Mark Edmondson

Re: Orange anti-freeze 🤷*♂️
Regardless of what's in there now, since the coolant hasn't been changed since you owned it, go ahead and flush the system and fill with G-05 or Original Green.
When I acquire a car, I like to change all fluids so I know they are fresh and the proper type.Mark Edmondson
