I was considering a 1965 Expansion Tank (Surge tank) dated "65B" for an early March build (Dow Smith/ A O Smith body). but decided upon "65A". Why?
I reviewed the 1965 Corvette Supplementary Data, published by Noland Adams in THE COMPLETE CORVETTE RESTORATION AND TECHNICAL GUIDE 1963 TO 1967, Volume 2. He included a listing of RADIATORS AND SURGE TANKS on page 314. From more than a one half page long listing, from his survey of '65s, did not include any 65B tanks. There are seventeen 65A dates listed for Corvettes ranging from 104375s107486 all the way down the list until 194675s113536 (17 A's and NO B's).
Did Harrison build these tanks in batches?
There are fewer radiator dates from the survey, also on page 314, but the same "B situation" exists for radiators. Was there a second 1965 model year strike in Lockport?
I will also ask Delphi Harrison retiree and NCRS member, Don Corser.
