Ignition coil bracket difference: GM #1970344 and GM # 1846538

Attached is a photo of a 1970344 ignition coil bracket used on 1968-1972 models. The angle measures 25 degrees. Is the 1946538 ignition coil bracket used on 1973-1974 models similar but with a larger angle (for air cleaner clearance purposes, I assume)? If so, what is the angle?

      John, Thanks for the information.
I also found some information about the 1970344, 1971011, and 1966876 ignition coil brackets on the NastyZ28 website where I am also a member. The 1971011 and 1966876 brackets have the "cut out" on the top edge like your bracket.
When I first measured my 1970344 bracket (which I have many of them) it measured about 30 degrees but when I bolted it down to a 1/4" thick steel plate the measurement was 25 degrees.

NOS SERVICE examples of these brackets will be hard to come by. The GM #1966876 was discontinued in February, 1984 and replaced by the GM #1970344. The latter was discontinued without supersession in May, 1990.

The GM #1846538 was discontinued without supersession in August, 1984.

Since part numbers are nowhere to be found on these brackets, the only way to positively identify one is by the part number on a GM SERVICE parts box or label.
