Hi everyone, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have a 1966 base engine which I have been restoring myself in the past but I as a result of my cancer treatments I can no longer even turn a screwdriver. I need some help with finishing as well as body work. I came across c2restorations.com which is in San Jose (an hour or so from my home). Has anyone dealt with this company or have any comment on them. Also, any other suggestions for shops in the area, especially for body work (some paint chipped off and it has been rear ended at some point, see attachments) would be appreciated. Thanks.
Anyone have an opinion on C2restorations.com in San Jose

Re: Anyone have an opinion on C2restorations.com in San Jose
Hi Robert, I grew up in San Francisco and lived in Sonoma County for 36 years before relocating to Arizona and unfortunately don't have any input on that shop but, I have dealt with a Corvette Vendor in San Jose, Matt Rohr at Corvette Clinic and figure he'd be someone to check with on Specialty Car Shops in the area. My neighbor here in Prescott AZ is originally from Cupertino near San Jose and bought quite a few parts over the years from Matt so thats another plug for checking with Matt on local Vette Shops.

Re: Anyone have an opinion on C2restorations.com in San Jose
Hi Robert,
Wayne here (owner of C2 Restorations, LLC). I'd be happy to provide you with some local references (owners) of cars we've worked on. That said, we don't do paint/body work in-house. In the past, we pulled the bodies and shipped them to Tom Ames (Longview, TX)...but most recently we've been using Chris Springer (Los Gatos, CA) for our paint/body work. It's looking like that's the majority of what you need done. As Mike mentioned, Matt is a great resource as well, and a friend of both Chris & myself. He's a great reference and resource for parts. If you'd like to reach out to me, I can get you Chris' info and I'd be happy to give you some advice. Our spring Chapter meet is coming up in Los Gatos on April 14th/15th...another great place for advice. Chris & I will both be there...as will some of the cars we've both worked on. My contact info is on the website. Hope to hear from you...
Thx,
Wayne- Top

Can't get much better than Tom Ames. To me, if C2Restoration had used Tom, they must highly value good work. I bet you can trust C2's judgement in the firm they are currently using. PS - Sorry about the cancer issue. All the best in your treatment and recovery. 👍- Top

Re: Anyone have an opinion on C2restorations.com in San Jose
I believe that Tom Ames has retired from the painting business. Chris Springer is located in the south SF/SJ Bay Area (in the hills toward Santa Cruz). Chris has painted numerous Top Flight and Bloomington Gold Corvettes, including his own. He knows first hand what the NCRS judges look for. He can do a Concours paint job, or an NCRS paint job.

Does Chris Springer have a website or way to contact him?
