    1970 push Button seatbelt light.

My light does not come on. Perhaps it was on purpose when restored. Do I have to pull the center out to check the bulb? Was there a warning buzzer too? If so, it is not working either

My other issue is the key buzzer not working. I know about the switch in the column but where is the buzzer? so I can check for power?

Yes, to inspect/change the seat belt warning lamp the center cluster bezel assembly has to be removed. There is no buzzer associated with the seat belt warning.

The ignition key buzzer is integral with the horn relay mounted underhood on the driver side fender.

Re: 1970 push Button seatbelt light.

I like to check the power feed and fuse first. But nether the FSM schematic nor Dr Rebuild's diagram show this circuit, or I just can't find it. So I don't know which circuit to check.
If not the power source, likely culprits are the bulb and its fiddly push switch. You might be able to reach the bulb with the RH dash out. The service manual says to "loosen LH or center instrument cluster" then "reach behind cluster and grasp lamp socket." Sounds optimistic unless you have the arms and hands of a 7 year old. More likely you'll need to remove the center cluster. If it was my car (and it isn't), I would wait for another more compelling reason to develop before tearing into the dash. It will happen.

No seat belt buzzer for 1970, just the primitive light that must be extinguished manually each time the car is started by pushing the button.

The key alarm buzzer is inside the horn relay. Hopefully that's the culprit since it's easy to access and test.

EDIT: My apologies to Joe for my mostly redundant post. We were typing at about the same time.

you guys are great! I figured I would fix if simple but I can surely live without the lamp and the buzzer! Thanks

To clarify, the key buzzer in the horn relay may be an easy fix.

Funny story When I got out of the army in late 1969 I went to buy a new 0970 Corvette. i took one for a test drive. Could not figure how to get the damn seat belt light to go off after putting it on. Couldn't figure how to start it & wouldn't let me get the key out when I got back. My car before I got drafted was a1965 GTO convertible. Key on the dash & not all the safety crap. Maybe that's why I like the C-2'S

Well,I guess you didn't see the button labeled "Push" next to the light. And nobody told you to shift into reverse to remove the key and lock the column. Let's blame the salesman.

No sir nobody told me. I had not driven a car since I was in the service & didnt see a Americen car for 13 months when I was overseas thanks to Uncle Sam. As I said my car was 64 GTO & like vettes it had no seat belt light or reverse lockout. Yes you are right i guess I was pretty stupid not to know that GM put all that new stull & thought I would know. I said it was funny & the jokes on me.
