Time for our '75 to have the radiator replaced. Just wondering if there are any issues with installing an aluminum radiator in a system with copper/brass components (heater core) with the different metals? Question two..... Does the radiator support have to be removed to take out and install a radiator? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Re: A couple of questions regarding radiator replacement....
For 1973 small blocks, it's not necessary to remove or tilt the core support. 1975 is probably the same. The service manual details the procedure.
Good question about mixing aluminum, copper, brass; I'll let others address this. But you might consider recoring the original tanks. It's cheaper, more original looking and has a better chance of fitting properly.Mark Edmondson

Absolutely no problem mixing aluminum and copper/brass cooling system components. In fact, all 1963-67 small blocks, many 1968-72 small blocks, and all 1984-96 Corvettes were originally built this way.
By the way, the DeWitts direct fit for your application has a greater heat rejection (cooling) capacity than ANY radiator EVER originally installed in a Corvette. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: A couple of questions regarding radiator replacement....
I own a 62 640 hp car and am getting ready to replace my radiator from copper back to the original Harrison stamped one. I have ordered it from Dewitts (on sale this weekend and free shipping). As long as you guys have started a radiator questions thread, I thought I would capitalize on it.
I would like to know if anyone has experience of what specific radiator support parts I will need for installation. I am converting from a brass one to the original Harrison stamped and foil tab with VIN number / date). Getting ready for SE Regional event in Feb 2024
So far, I have it that I will need the following (excluding the aluminum radiator itself and the drain extension, connector, drain parts):
3 rubber cushions - one on top and two on the bottom ?
10 shims need they be cardboard or metal or both are needed ?
Thanks, in advance.
