I occasionally judge C 2 windshields. It falls under the std deduction items.

As noted by Mike, windshields are judged by Standard Deduction Guideline #4.

Note: SDG #4 was updated in Spring Restorer V49 #4, page 3.

        Dave,

Can you tell me what changed between the SDG #4 and the Spring Restorer V49 #4? I wish; it would have been highlighted (the Changes) in the Judging Message.

        ThANKS FOR YOUR original note.

Worth your while to get a laminated Standard Deduction Guideline sheet from our Bookstore when new one comes available. Also VERY useful is NCRS' 9th Edition Corvette Judging Reference Manual (JRM) - answers to many questions in that manual. JRM is the least expensive, least read document in all of NCRS. Read cover-to-cover and you will know more than most!

Your year specific, Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide (TIMJG) tells you WHAT to judge. JRM tells you HOW to judge. Both are important to your future happiness! LOL

          As to your question:

No Originality Deductions: No change to language

Table of Originality Deductions: Old, New

Deduct 20%: as above, excepting only the date. ("above" in this case, refers to OEM glass per TIMJG dated with in 12 months prior to vehicle assembly) No change to language

Deduct 30%: OEM brand, later service replacement style with correct tinting, if applicable.
Deduct 30%: OEM brand, later service replacement style.

Deduct 50%: OEM brand, with atypically configured tinting
Deduct 25%: OEM brand, original style with atypically configured tinting

Deduct 90%: 1953-62 tinted front or side glass; or 1953-2004 non-OEM brand replacement(s) or any year added tinting (film, etc)
Deduct 90%: 1953-62 tinted front or side glass; or 1953-96 non-OEM brand replacement(s) or any year added tinting (film, etc)

Commentary: I believe 50% to 25% change was a reflection of aftermarket glass manufacturers for being able to get their act together and produce gas with proper tints. Can't get it - so why zing our members with deductions for unobtainium?

Language change for Deduction 90%, I believe is a mistake, Current JRM reads 2004 and we are not (at least, I hope not) going backwards to old JRM 1996!

          Hope that helps

          Dave

Remember - TIMJG and JRM are your friends
