    Thomas,

I think this is what we might be seeing with that weird fuse in post #5. This is a 10-amp Littelfuse, shown at two magnifications, at two orientations to the plane of the central internal element.

Those are medium acting fuses. There are basically 3 types, fast medium and slow. The caps should be stamped with the series number which tells you which type of fuse it is.

With all due respect to the judges and the JG. The fuses were made a certain way depending on the amperage rating and the lower amperage rated fuses used solid wire not flat filament with or without the dog-bone pattern.

In theory, you can simply put whatever fuse you want into the fuse block for judging if appearance is a concern. The judge is not going to spin the fuse an look at the rating on the end cap.

This is one of the reason I would be reluctant to and have never had my car judged. I have seen many comments on the site from people that are infinitely more knowledgeable about Corvettes than me, about other topics related to originality. In some cases they may be the original owner and therefore would know what was compared to what someone later says it should be.

My goal is to keep the car in original condition and to eventually replace any non-original part as time and money allows. If I do that, I will probably have a car worth half of what I put into it - but who cares.
