Does anyone still supply the correct damming strip, and sealer? All the usual suppliers seem to have is the round butyl strip seal, without the damming strip. Any help would be appreciated. Mark

Re: 1969 windshield installation question
Maybe. Car is judged on originality and condition alone. If it is detectable and the judge knowledgeable, you may get a deduct. No allowances for availability of correct part(s).- Top

I believe that rule would dilute the value of the NCRS Awards. It would certainly reduce the market for proper reproductions and we would never get decent reproductions. It is a slippery slope that will lead to our demise.Terry- Top

Re: 1969 windshield installation question
OK, I'll weigh in as the 4th "Mark" in this post
Non-DOT tires are not available as repros, so they get a 3-point SDG.
Original style batteries are getting hard to find - and several SDGs apply to them, too.
I don't know much about '69s - and I'm not saying an SDG is warranted for the windshield strip and sealer, but if it's not available, overlooking an appropriate deduction is not consistent w/ other guidelines.
Also, it's probably not fair to "the other guy" who still has the original strip and sealer on his car.
just my 2₵thx,

Foam dam tape strips are readily available in the aftermarket. Amazon or eBay. Not exact bit probably the best you can do.- Top
