Hose & Wiring Straps & Tape

Regarding vacuum hoses and wire bundles for my 69: Can someone tell me what are the correct straps I've boxed in red in the photo below. They are identified as #1 in the AIM illustration. Is either of the straps I've inserted in the photo correct (A or B)? Or something else? Are they supposed to be attached to the header reinforcement bar?

In the green boxes I've pointed out what I believe is supposed to be something like electrical tape. But wider than the typical 3/4" off the shelf tape. What is the correct width?

What is the width of the filament tape used around vacuum hose connectors?

    Thanks folks.

    Michael,

Regarding tape, check out the five "similar threads" below. There's some detailed information for you.

Mark, thanks for pointing out the other threads. I’m not too concerned about the filament tape because I have some. Just need to trim it to a suitable width.

I also have most of a roll of the wide black vinyl non-adhesive tape used to bundle electrical wires together. What I’m trying to identify is the narrow black adhesive tape used to bundle the wiring bundle with the vacuum hoses. Most of those commenting on this topic refer to a cloth-like tape. Photos I’ve seem of unrestored “original“ cars appear to have what appears to be a smooth vinyl tape. I’m the original owner of this car and vaguely remember such tape. Unfortunately too many years have passed, many of which I wasn’t concerned about maintaining originality. My bad!

Yes- The straps appear to be your version A- Straps are not attached to the header, as I can get a slight movement at each strap location (4 ea.)- Straps just hold vacuum lines and wiring harness together. Hope this helps

Excellent. I am redoing all of this..vac lines, washer lines, harness. In the event I am needing straps Michael or anyone...who makes best repro of strap A and any part number?

Keith, I plan to order a few straps from Zip - when I have a list with enough pieces and parts to justify the shipping cost.
63-82 Wire Tie Strap - 5in T-Shaped (Black), Item E-785. They also have a 7" version, but I have one old 5" that adequately fits the wire bundle, two vacuum hoses and one washer hose that runs along the left side. Other vendors have them as well.

Thank you very much. I usually do Paragon...for no particular reason...but also use Zip, and CC on occasion. They are all pretty much the same/similar AFAIK. Thanks again.
