What is the 'A' after the paint code on the 63 trim tag? I've searched almost everywhere for an answer to this. I see this on many 63 tags.

Re: 63 Paint Code on Trim Tag
According to the Authentication Library, Volume One (Trim Tag book) all 1963 paint codes were followed by an A (page 7). The '63 body color codes listed on page 22 show this so it is just part of the code, nothing more.- Top

Re: 63 Paint Code on Trim Tag
Thanks, Don. Another odd thing in my opinion is all of the letter suffixes for the trim codes in 63 having to do with whether or not the car is supposed to have air conditioning. Is that explained in the Authentication Library?Attached Files- Top

Re: 63 Paint Code on Trim Tag
It may be related to trim tag standardization across GM models. On two tone paint trim tags used elsewhere the A would have been followed by a second code for the lower color- see below.
