    Mel,

As Duke states in posting #4, some recommendations are apples vs oranges applications, race use vs street use/road tour car. The same plug will not work well for both.

Picked up a set of plugs today, parts stores use the number NGK 3210, the B4 reference confuses them, most are not used to looking up parts for old cars

Re: 63 340hp, best spark plug?

3210 is the "stock number" for a box of 10 B4 (part number) spark plugs. Typically NGK plugs are sold in boxes of 4 or 10. The B4 is only available in a box of 10.

At lot of parts store counter guys are barely literate on parts nomenclature, so you have to look at them with a jaundiced eye. For example, I go into a parts store and say I want to order an Airtex 4V1093 vacuum advance control, and the guy says "what's the year and model." Since I've been though this before I say it's a custom application, that's the part number I want, and he says I need the make and model. Duhhhhh!

So I ask if there's someone else that can help out like maybe the manager. Sometimes there's someone else around who knows how to order a part without typing the year and make into the computer, but sometimes not so I leave and go elsewhere.

You'll always get better advice here.

I don't think many on the TDB race their cars... maybe a few back in the day. As I stated in post #4 "racing", and I mean on a road racing track, requires colder than normal road driving plugs because the engine is under high average load, and I found the AC 43 (or equivalent heat range in another brand) to be correct for this kind of small block service.

Normal road driving heat range plugs are okay for drag racing because the engine only sees high load for 15-16 seconds or less.

              William:
I used to run an auto parts store, but is now closed. However, I do still have some original AC Spark Plugs that were manufactured in the 60s and 70s.
Have 44; 44S; 45; & 45S. Also have these same numbers in resistor. Don't know what heat range would be best for your application, but if you can use any of these I have, msg me. I can supply.

For typical vintage Corvette use (that doesn't include road racing), big or small block V-8, AC heat range 5 or equivalent in another brand is the best choice.
