Hi everyone,
I searched this topic and am still not positive about the answer. I'm rebuilding the heater box on a '69 A/C car. I have a foam seal to seal the entire box assembly to the firewall so no question there. However the core mount itself mounts inside the heater box, where the box is slightly recessed, and then forms part of the overall surface that mounts to the firewall. Should there be any type of seal between the heater box surface and the heater core mount surface? For example 3M strip caulk. I don't think so since the rebuild kit I'm using doesn't come with anything nor have I seen instructions to do so but want to be sure before I install everything. It was hard tell if anything was there when I took it apart.
Thanks!
