    Thermostat Housing Gasket

A few years back it was recommended to me to us a AC 10105135 waterneck gasket.
I made a note of that suggestion and now I need to change out the original gasket.
Typically a waterneck gasket should be about $1-4, but the AC gasket is more than $20.
Assuming I can even find one, is it worth 5X the cost? Must be other alternatives.

The 10105135 is the best gasket. I don't know where you got your pricing info, though. The 10105135 is still available from GM for a GM list price just over 5 bucks and can probably be purchased for about half that.

I posted this over on the CF last month:

Yes, but that price is ridiculous. Amazon Prime has them for $6.47 They have since gone up to $8.42 Better get one while they're hot.

As silly as this is. I cannot find 10105135 gasket near me.
Autozone, GM, NAPA, O'Reilly's, Chevy Dealer, RockAuto all want me to either purchase 10 units ($27+) and/or pay an additional $10+ shipping for a single unit.
One chevy dealer gave me a price of $48.62. In todays world prices are steady increasing but $48 for a $2.50 gasket is robbery.

Would you buy a $2 gasket for $14?
                    Not me.
Just amazed that local auto part stores do not have it.

For my current 1993 optispark project, I was surprised Amazon became my favorite parts supplier. They offered name brands, low (if not the lowest) price, free 1-4 day delivery, and free no questions asked returns at Whole Foods- no packaging required. .

All from Amazon: ACDelco water pump, GM distributor and WP seals, Taylor custom fit cables, AC plugs, gasket sealer, AC thermostat... everything but the distributor and belt (they offered the unique AC dual-sided ribbed belt but long lead time).

RockAuto has good selection, availability, prices and search engine. But AI decides who pays return shipping with no human recourse.
