    Finally brought her home.

I finally brought home my 68 C3. What a differance from my C1..........................

She is a nearly 100% perfect survivor car. 327 / 350hp ,Original paint never been hit #'s matching all the way through. needs smog only as far as I know. I intend to keep it a survivor rather than restore it.

    Opinions and suggestions welcome please.

Pretty! You'll have some fun with that!
I keep saying my next one is going to be blue.
On the 8th one, and still no blue.

I need to ask the community for a little forgiveness. I have been kindly correctrd by another member regarding this post. He was respectful enough to call me and tell me about my mistake rather than just posting for all to see "Thank you". He Said to me when I bought the car that it had a counter exchange short block in it CE8 33201. Being very excited about the car and a newbie to C3 and NCRS correctness I assumed that it was still, even with the counter exchange block to be considered original motor. It was built by GM in 1968 and still carries all the original attached parts. at least it's not a restomod crate motor! Sorry for any miss understandings and I am hoping to learn more from all of you. Super excited to be back in the game. She is going to my doctor today for her first visit

Opinions on CE8 block is appreciated, how much of a differance does it make?

              Thank you

Your car is more original than many cars with their original engine. It is still a very unmolested and interesting car.
I hope you enjoy your new acquisition.

                  Jim,

After attending a Star / Bowtie Judging class last weekend, I believe you may still have a chance of achieving multiple stars (three max) with a replacement motor. I'll invite experienced judges expound upon this, but the Star judging treats Interior, Exterior, Mechanical and Chassis as separate judging categories (Stars) for originality. You might do well to obtain the 9th edition of the Corvette Judging Reference Manual and read section 9. Do be advised that this judging category is rigorous and any evidence of any item (fastener, component) that appears to have been touched with will lose points. The apparent attempt of the Star/Bowtie category is to recognize an original example of historic value that the NCRS can learn from and be an example of the typical factory build such that the TIM&JG can use (photos and description) to build the database of knowledge upon.

Looks like a very nice original car and good luck with the adventure. And most importantly, have fun and appreciate it!

                    Thank you bill,
That is very encouraging in fact my friend told me the same thing. I already have the judging manual and will read that section tonight

                    any other thoughts appreciated

Thank you for the encouragement. I think you would be hard pressed to find a more original example. I am in love with her

The only way to know for sure is to bring the car to a regional for a Bowtie Sign-off judging, good luck!

To expand on what Tim mentions, all too many 2- and 3-Star cars never see the light of day after Bowtie judging.
They are still valuable reference and teaching tools for the areas where they receive a star.
Though you obviously won't score a Top Flight, don't let that dissuade you from enjoying the Bowtie process.
