I found Joe Grunda's article informative, well illustrated and explained. He used his 1989 as an example.

My question is how much of his repair procedure applies to other C4 years? Parts houses differentiate 88-92 from 93-96 antennas... Is the process for replacing the ribbon much the same?

Check with Tom Barr, the C4 team leader, Allen Tremain, prior C4 Team leader or Pete Bergmann, C6 Judging Manual Coordinator. They are all very familiar with the different year C4s which I am not familiar with. Their contact information is on page 2 of The Restorer.
